TOPEKA, Kan. — Victory in the 785! Let me ask y’all something: Who remembers sitting down at Perkins on Wanamaker for a hot breakfast, a fresh cup of coffee, and a little good conversation?
For years, Perkins has been one of those familiar Topeka spots where families gather, friends catch up, and folks settle in after church or before heading off to work.
We’re talking pancakes, eggs, bacon, biscuits, and those famous pies sitting in the display case tempting you before you’ve even ordered breakfast.
There’s something special about a neighborhood breakfast spot. It’s not always about fancy food or expensive menus. Sometimes it’s about a waitress who remembers your coffee, a booth you’ve sat in a hundred times, and a place where everybody feels welcome.
But here’s my question, Topeka: Is Perkins on Wanamaker still hitting like it used to?
Are the pancakes still worth getting out of bed for? Is the coffee still flowing? And is Perkins still one of the best places in town to bring the family for breakfast?
I want to hear from the people who know!
If you’ve eaten at Perkins, drop a “Victory!” in the comments and tell me your favorite thing to order. Better yet, tag somebody you’d love to take out for breakfast.
Because sometimes the best part of living in the 785 isn’t something new. It’s remembering the places that have brought us together for years.
This is your city. This is your community. This Is Topeka.
Victory!
