Topeka over the next week, with organizers calling for public participation on consecutive days
The first event, titled “Not My President,” is planned for Monday, Feb. 16, at the Kansas Capitol in Topeka. According to promotional materials circulated online, participants are asked to gather at 3 p.m. on the south side of the Capitol for an open microphone session. Organizers say a march to the north side of the building will follow at 4 p.m.
The flyer includes the phrase “Ad Astra Per Aspera,” the Kansas state motto, and encourages attendees to contact organizers for volunteer opportunities. A QR code and website link are provided for additional information. The event appears to be organized by a group identifying itself as “50501 Kansas.”
A second protest, branded “Stick It to Congress,” is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 17, at 11:30 a.m. Organizers are asking participants to meet on the north side of the Capitol building. Promotional materials describe it as a “Save the Date” rally and similarly feature the 50501 Kansas branding.
The Kansas Statehouse, located at 300 SW 10th Ave., is a frequent site of public demonstrations given its role as the seat of state government.
As of publication, no permit details or expected attendance figures were immediately available. It is also unclear whether the two events are formally connected beyond sharing similar branding and location.
