TOPEKA, Kan. — Local musician Tyler Lee Swain was arrested Saturday, October 17, 2026, on allegations of driving under the influence, operating a vehicle without a required ignition interlock device, and leaving the scene of a property-damage accident.
According to Shawnee County booking records, Swain, 35, was booked at 5:45 p.m. Saturday and released at approximately 10:30 p.m. the same evening.
Swain was booked on three allegations:

- Driving under the influence, described in the booking record as “DUI .08 or Greater Within 3 Hours.”
- Operating a vehicle without an ignition interlock device during a restriction period.
- Leaving the scene of a non-injury accident involving reported damage of less than $1,000.
The booking record lists a $2,500 bond amount for each allegation.
Swain was also reportedly scheduled to perform at Lattes and Lace on Saturday. The timing of that performance relative to his arrest has not yet been independently confirmed.

The ignition interlock allegation indicates that authorities believe Swain was operating a vehicle in violation of an existing driving restriction. The booking record does not establish the underlying reason for that restriction.
Swain is scheduled to appear in court on November 17, 2026, at 3 p.m.
Additional details about the alleged accident, including its location, the circumstances surrounding the incident, and whether another vehicle was involved, were not available in the booking information reviewed by This Is Topeka.
All allegations remain pending, and Swain is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
This Is Topeka will update this story as additional information becomes available.
