A man accused of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and child endangerment is now being held for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) following his booking into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections.
According to jail records, Marcos Tulio Tejada-Ardon, 53, was booked into the Shawnee County Jail shortly after midnight on July 20, 2026.

Court records show he is being held on the following allegations:
- Aggravated assault; use of a deadly weapon
- Aggravated endangering a child; reckless situation involving a child under 18
Each criminal charge carries a $50,000 cash or surety bond, for a combined bond amount of $100,000. His next scheduled court appearance is October 8, 2026, at 3:00 p.m.
In addition to the state criminal charges, the jail roster lists a “Hold for Immigration and Customs Enforcement” with no bond, meaning federal immigration authorities have requested that the jail maintain custody of the defendant or notify ICE before any release.
An ICE detainer is an administrative request asking a local jail to continue holding an individual for a limited period after they would otherwise be released so federal immigration officials can assume custody. An ICE hold does not determine guilt or innocence on either the criminal allegations or any immigration matter.
As with all criminal cases, the charges against Tejada-Ardon are allegations. He is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
This is the latest in a series of recent Shawnee County bookings that have included ICE detainers, reflecting continued cooperation between local detention officials and federal immigration authorities when immigration holds are issued.
