TOPEKA, Kan. — A Topeka woman is facing multiple charges, including allegations of child abuse, following her early-morning booking into the Shawnee County Jail.
According to booking records, Crystal Dionne Hillmon, 28, was booked at approximately 3:05 a.m. on May 9, 2026.
Hillmon faces a series of charges led by a felony count of abuse of a child, described as knowingly torturing or cruelly beating a child older than 6 but younger than 18. Additional charges include endangering a child and interference with law enforcement, along with traffic-related offenses for driving without proper registration and driving on a suspended license.

Bond for the felony-related charges was listed at $10,000 each, with additional lower bonds or recognizance terms tied to the remaining counts. A court appearance related to the traffic charges is scheduled for June 9, 2026, at 9:00 a.m.
Jail records also indicate a hold for fingerprinting and a separate bench warrant issued in Topeka Municipal Court.
Separately, Wyandotte County records show Hillmon was previously named as a respondent in a 2022 child support case, where a motion for default judgment for support was filed. While the full outcome of that case is unclear, the existence of a support action typically indicates a court-ordered financial obligation tied to the care of a child and may suggest a custodial arrangement involving another party.
As with all criminal cases, the charges listed in the booking report are allegations, and Hillmon is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
No additional details about the circumstances leading to the arrest or the condition of the alleged victim have been released at this time.
This is a developing story.
