TOPEKA, Kan. — A pedestrian struck in a Saturday evening hit-and-run near NW Topeka Blvd. and Paramore Street has died from their injuries, and police say an 18-year-old suspect is now in custody on multiple felony charges.
According to the Topeka Police Department, officers responded around 5:53 p.m. on Saturday after receiving reports of a vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash. The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries but later passed away.
Following the initial investigation, TPD identified Sultan Y. Andemichael, 18, of Topeka as the suspected driver involved in the deadly incident. He was booked into the Shawnee County Jail on the following charges:

- Involuntary Manslaughter
- Failure to Stop at an Accident Resulting in Death
- Interference with a Law Enforcement Officer — accused of concealing, altering, or destroying evidence in a felony case
Authorities have released Andemichael’s booking photo, and the investigation remains active.
