TOPEKA, Kan. — The Kansas Black Republican Council (KBRC) released a post Friday evening titled “Character over chaos. Faith over fear.” following revelations about racist messages allegedly exchanged in a private chat group involving members of a Kansas Young Republicans organization.

The post, shared on social media, called for unity and moral integrity within the party:

“Last night, a few bad actors sought to cast a shadow upon the Kansas Republican Party. But we are far more than the disgraceful words of two individuals. We are bound not by convenience, but by conviction, by faith in God, by love of country, and by the belief that character will always triumph over ignorance and hate.”

The KBRC statement appeared alongside a press release highlighting a recent fundraiser co-hosted by the group and the Republican Jewish Coalition, which raised over $51,000 for the Israel at War initiative.

While the organization did not name the individuals involved or specify details of the incident, the message comes as Kansas Republicans confront fallout over racist remarks circulating online among young party members.

The KBRC’s post framed the controversy as a test of the party’s principles, concluding,

“So let the cynics whisper and the critics sneer. We shall answer them not with bitterness, but with purpose. Because our cause is just, and our best days are yet to come.”

Requests for comment from state GOP leadership and the Kansas Young Republicans had not been returned as of publication.
