Among the most serious cases:
- Johnny Lee Junior Powers — multiple felony distribution charges including distributing opiates within 1,000 feet of a school, distribution of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute, tax stamp violations, and felony weapon possession. Held without bond.
- Christopher William Dice — charged with distributing 100+ grams of heroin, stimulants, or fentanyl, possession of manufacturing paraphernalia, fleeing law enforcement, and interference with an officer. $50,000 bond.

The timing of the arrests — clustered throughout Tuesday afternoon and evening — along with the combination of drug distribution, weapons charges, and proceeds counts, suggests this was more than routine policing.
“This looks and feels like a coordinated sweep,” one local attorney told This Is Topeka. “You don’t normally see this many mid-level distribution cases and no-bond holds in a single day unless there’s been a major operation or warrant round-up.”

Drug distribution cases, especially those tied to fentanyl and heroin, have been at the center of Topeka’s fight against violent crime and overdoses.
