TOPEKA, Kan. – Recovery isn’t just about surviving—it’s about thriving. That’s the message behind the Topeka Recovery Festival, coming to the Stormont Vail Events Center on Saturday, September 27, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Hosted by Oxford House, the event—formerly known as Spring Bling—has been moved to September to coincide with National Recovery Month. Organizers say it’s more than just a gathering; it’s a chance for the recovery community and the public to come together, celebrate progress, and continue breaking down stigma.

“This year’s Recovery Festival is a great opportunity for the recovery community and the general public to unify,” said Robert Roche, Oxford House World Council member. “Topeka has a thriving community of recovering addicts and alcoholics eager to show society that positive change can, and does happen.”

The festival will feature:

  • Live Speaker Jam (Noon–6 p.m.)
  • Cornhole Tournament
  • Swag Tables & 50/50 Raffle
  • Community Partner Booths

Admission is a $5 donation at the door, and the event is open to all ages. Families are encouraged to attend, with organizers emphasizing the importance of creating an inclusive and welcoming space.

Roche said the goal is not only to celebrate recovery but also to highlight the everyday lives of people in recovery. “Many of us ‘hopeless and helpless addicts’ now live productive and meaningful lives and have successfully reintegrated into society,” he said. “Our hope is to raise awareness by inviting community partners into a piece of our everyday life … and in turn, start giving back to society. We do recover.”
