TOPEKA, Kan. — A Topeka man was booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on Wednesday evening on allegations involving child abuse and aggravated battery resulting in serious injury.
According to jail records, Douglas Ross Mulqueen, 55, was booked at approximately 6:45 p.m. on May 21, 2026, under booking number 2026-00003471.

Mulqueen is being held on two felony allegations:
- Abuse of a child — knowingly torturing, cruelly beating, striking, kicking, or otherwise physically abusing a child older than six years of age and younger than eighteen.
- Aggravated battery — recklessly causing great bodily harm or disfigurement.
Jail records indicate both charges are associated with warrant 2026-14395. The booking report shows no bond has been set, and Mulqueen remained in custody as of the latest available jail records.
Court information was not immediately available Thursday morning.
