Two separate “No Kings” demonstrations are scheduled in Topeka this Saturday, October 18, as part of the nationwide day of protest aimed at highlighting concerns over political power consolidation and executive overreach.

The first event, No Kings – Topeka Corner, will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at 21st Street and Wanamaker Road, where participants plan to hold signs and engage with traffic along one of the city’s busiest intersections.

The second, larger rally — No Kings – Topeka — is set for 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the south steps of the Kansas State Capitol in downtown Topeka. Organizers say it will feature speakers and local advocates joining in solidarity with protests being held in cities across the country.

Residents should expect increased pedestrian activity near both locations and possible slowdowns along 21st Street and around 10th Avenue near the Capitol.

This Is Topeka will provide updates from both events as they unfold Saturday afternoon.
