The Stormont Vail Events Center was the center of excitement from August 21 through 24 as the Capital City Cluster Dog Show brought four days of high-energy competition to Topeka. From conformation and obedience to rally and scent work, the event showcased the best of the canine world — but the biggest splash of the weekend came from the North America Diving Dogs (NADD) dock-diving competition.
Dogs of all breeds and sizes charged down the dock, leaping into the air before crashing into the pool with style and power. With distances ranging from beginner-level jumps to impressive, competition-worthy dives, the event delivered nonstop action and plenty of applause from the crowd.
NADD’s participation in the Capital City Cluster is part of its mission to bring official, sanctioned dock-diving competitions to communities across the country. Scores from the Topeka event will count toward national rankings and qualifications for regional and national championships recognized by both the American Kennel Club (AKC) and the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC).
Alongside the dock diving, attendees explored vendor booths, watched skill-based events, and supported the competitors who made the trip to Topeka. The Capital City Cluster continues to be one of the Midwest’s standout dog events, and its growing popularity reflects the community’s enthusiasm for canine sports.
With the success of this year’s event, Topeka is further cementing its reputation as a destination for dog lovers and competitive canine athletes alike.
