Governor Kelly Seeks Applicants to Fill District Court Judge Position in the 18th Judicial District

TOPEKA
 – Governor Laura Kelly is seeking applicants to fill the district court judge position in the 18th Judicial District, which is composed of Sedgewick County. The governor received official notice of this vacancy from the Clerk of the Appellate Courts on Feb. 13, 2025. 

Individuals wishing to apply should email [email protected] for application materials. Applicants must submit materials by March 28, 2025.  

District court judges in the 18th Judicial District are elected and serve four-year terms. Consistent with K.S.A. 25-312a, the person appointed to fill the vacancy shall serve until a successor is elected and qualified at the next general election to serve the remainder of the unexpired term.
