Excellence is realizing there are always new doors to walk through — and sometimes those doors have been right here in Topeka the whole time.
Today, I found myself at Dialogue Coffeehouse, a place I’ve somehow never been before. And before I even walked through the door, it had me thinking about something bigger than coffee.
How often do we get so comfortable with our routine that we stop looking around?
Same road to work. Same places to eat. Same coffee. Same people. Same routine.
But Topeka is changing. New businesses are opening, people are building things, and opportunities are popping up all around us. Sometimes all it takes is changing your route and being willing to experience something new.
So today, I’m taking my own advice.
I’m walking through a new door.
Now, 785 family, this is where I need you. If you’ve been to Dialogue Coffeehouse, what am I ordering? What’s that one drink, breakfast item or snack I need to try?
Don’t let me walk in there and make a rookie mistake!
Part of building a stronger Topeka is supporting the people who are building something here. And sometimes supporting your city can be as simple as walking into a local coffee shop you’ve never tried before.
So here’s my challenge for you today:
Change the routine.
Try somewhere new. Talk to somebody new. Take a different road. Look around and see what’s being built in your own backyard.
You never know what you’ll discover.
