Stop scrolling, Topeka family!
Victory!!
Excellence is found when we take the time to celebrate the people and businesses that make Topeka a premier place to live.
Today, I want to shine a little light on the Topeka Barbecue Shop inside Fairlawn Plaza.
Now, I love good barbecue as much as anybody, but this is about more than what’s going on the smoker.
Every time we choose to shop local, we’re putting another brick in the foundation of the 785. We’re supporting somebody’s dream. We’re helping keep somebody employed. We’re keeping dollars here in our community and showing the people willing to invest in Topeka that Topeka is willing to invest in them, too.
That’s how a community grows.
Sometimes we talk about wanting Topeka to be better, stronger and more successful like somebody else is supposed to come along and make it happen.
But we’re somebody.
We build the community we want to live in by the choices we make every day.
So get out there. Walk through the doors. Meet the people behind our local businesses. Spend a few dollars when you can. Tell somebody about a great experience when you have one.
And most importantly, look out for one another.
When God is the Leader, we understand that success isn’t just about what we build for ourselves. It’s about reaching back, lifting somebody else up and building something stronger together.
Now I need the 785 family to help me out:
What’s your favorite locally owned spot in Fairlawn Plaza?
Restaurant, shop, hidden gem — whatever you’ve got. Drop it below. You might just give me my next stop!
Because there’s a whole lot of good happening right here at home. Sometimes we’ve just got to slow down long enough to see it.
Victory!!
Keep moving forward. Keep supporting local. Keep building the foundation. And I’ll see you somewhere around the 785.
