If you were wondering whether the war on drugs took a day off Tuesday in Topeka, the answer appears to be no.
A review of the Shawnee County Adult Detention Center booking report shows a string of narcotics arrests ranging from simple possession cases to allegations of drug distribution, fentanyl trafficking, and weapons violations tied to controlled substances.
The biggest case of the day involved 41-year-old Scot Charles Fortner, who was booked into jail Tuesday evening on allegations of distributing heroin, fentanyl, or other stimulants between 3.5 and 100 grams. Fortner also faces allegations of possessing narcotics, marijuana, depressants, and drug-manufacturing paraphernalia. His bond was listed at $75,000.

Earlier in the afternoon, 39-year-old Nina Irene Tidwell was booked on multiple felony drug charges, including allegations of distributing marijuana in quantities ranging from more than 25 grams to less than 30 kilograms. She also faces allegations of possessing narcotics, using a communication device in furtherance of a felony drug offense, and possessing drug paraphernalia.

Another serious case involved 59-year-old Donald Gene Reavis, who was booked on allegations of distributing stimulants within 1,000 feet of a school and possessing paraphernalia intended for manufacturing controlled substances.

Police also arrested 22-year-old Gregory Isiaha Kelley on allegations of distributing an unknown controlled substance. The arrest came with additional charges alleging interference with law enforcement, driving while suspended, operating without insurance, possessing an open container, and traffic violations.

The late-night shift wasn’t quiet either.
Just before midnight, 31-year-old Rein Moffith was booked on allegations of possessing narcotics and marijuana. Prosecutors also allege he illegally possessed a firearm while addicted to and using controlled substances. Traffic violations accompanied the arrest.

Minutes earlier, 55-year-old Robert Lee Brooks II was booked on allegations of possessing narcotics and drug paraphernalia, along with driving-related violations that included operating while suspended and displaying an improper license plate.

As always, these are allegations contained in jail booking records. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
