TOPEKA, Kan. — A 19-year-old Topeka man was booked into custody Sunday afternoon on serious felony allegations involving an alleged sexually violent offense and electronic harassment.
According to booking records, Christopher Brian Thuma Junior, born Sept. 29, 2006, was booked into jail on May 18, 2026, at approximately 12:00 p.m.
The listed charges include:
- Rape; sexual intercourse with a physically powerless victim
- Harassment by telecommunication device; transmitting comments, images, or texts intended to abuse, threaten, or harass
Jail records show the case is being held with no bond.

The charge involving a “physically powerless” victim generally refers to allegations that a person was incapable of consent due to physical condition, unconsciousness, impairment, or inability to communicate unwillingness under Kansas law.
As with all criminal cases, the allegations are accusations at this stage, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
Still, the nature of the allegations has already sparked outrage online and renewed conversations about violent crimes involving vulnerable victims and the growing role digital harassment often plays alongside alleged abuse cases.
Anyone with additional information related to the case is encouraged to contact local law enforcement.
