TOPEKA, Kan. — A troubling trend has emerged in Topeka over the past several weeks, with three separate arrests tied to child sex crimes — all within less than 30 days.
Most Recent: Mark A. Calloway Jr.
On September 11, 2025, Kansas Bureau of Investigation agents arrested Mark A. Calloway Jr., 27, of Topeka, on charges of sexual exploitation of a child.
According to the KBI, the case began after a cyber tip was submitted to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. Investigators executed a search warrant at a home in the 3700 block of SE Truman Avenue before taking Calloway into custody. He was booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections and additional charges may follow as the investigation continues.
September 5: Qua’Dream Keon Williams
Just six days before Calloway’s arrest, Qua’Dream Keon Williams, 24, was taken into custody on a long list of charges including aggravated indecent liberties with a child, criminal sodomy with a child, sexual exploitation of a child, indecent solicitation, and aggravated battery.
Williams’ bond was set at $500,000, and authorities say the alleged crimes date back to May 2025 in the 1300 block of SW Harrison Street. His case is pending in Shawnee County District Court.
August 22: Justin R. Bevitt
On August 22, 2025, KBI agents arrested Justin R. Bevitt, 41, of Topeka, following a warrant issued in Kentucky. He is accused of traveling to Kentucky in late July and having sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old girl.
Bevitt faces multiple felony counts in Kentucky, including unlawful transactions with a minor and distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor. He was arrested after a search warrant was executed at a residence in the 1900 block of SW Lane Street.
