This is Topeka Contest Terms and Conditions

By submitting content (photos, text, or other media) to “This is Topeka” as part of the Weekly Contest (the “Contest”), you agree to the following terms and conditions:

  1. Eligibility
    The Contest is open to individuals aged 18 or older. Minors may participate with the written consent of a parent or guardian.
  2. Content Ownership and License
    • You retain ownership of any content submitted (the “Submission”).
    • By submitting content, you grant “This is Topeka” a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual license to use, reproduce, distribute, display, and publish the Submission on its website, social media channels, and any other promotional materials.
    • You acknowledge and agree that “This is Topeka” may edit or modify your Submission for formatting, clarity, or promotional purposes.
  3. Original Work
    By entering, you represent and warrant that your Submission is your original work and does not infringe on any copyright, trademark, or other rights of third parties. You also confirm that you have obtained necessary permissions for any individuals or property featured in the Submission.
  4. Credit and Attribution
    “This is Topeka” may credit you as the creator of the Submission when it is published. However, you acknowledge that we are not obligated to do so.
  5. Indemnity
    You agree to indemnify and hold harmless “This is Topeka,” its affiliates, and partners from any claims, damages, liabilities, or expenses arising from your Submission or any breach of these terms.
  6. Contest Rules
    • All Submissions must comply with community standards and avoid offensive, illegal, or inappropriate content.
    • “This is Topeka” reserves the right to disqualify any Submission that violates these rules or does not align with the Contest’s purpose.
  7. No Compensation
    Participation in the Contest is voluntary, and no monetary compensation will be provided for Submissions, publication, or any associated use.
  8. Privacy
    Personal information collected during the Contest will be used solely for the administration of the Contest and will not be shared with third parties without your consent.
  9. Modification or Cancellation
    “This is Topeka” reserves the right to modify or cancel the Contest at any time without prior notice.
  10. Governing Law
    These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state of Kansas.
