Vickie (Bubby) Lee Smith

Vickie “Bubby” Lee Smith was born to Gloria Marie Wilder, a young teenage mother who treasured her from the very moment she was born. Gloria’s love was a constant thread woven throughout Bubby’s life, nurturing her with warmth and devotion. As a testament to family bonds, Naomi V. Williams and Eddie Williams embraced Bubby as their own, showering her with unconditional love and support. Together, they created a home filled with joy, laughter, and the assurance that she was truly special. Bubby grew up surrounded by family and friends who adored her, a reflection of the love that Gloria, Eddie, and Naomi instilled in her heart. Their collective care and affection shaped her into the remarkable person she became, forever reminding us of the beautiful connections that bind us all. Bubby was a ray of sunshine, lighting up every room she entered with her smile and joyful spirit. Her creative talents in floral design, her love of reading, and her passion for life, politics, and faith were just a few of the many gifts she possessed. She also devoted herself to the study of the Bible, grounding her life in love, faith, and wisdom. She is survived by her devoted husband, William Douglas Smith; her two sons, William Jarael Smith and Jaeradan Glenn Smith; and her siblings: sister Sonya Majority Diggs, and brothers James Edward McConnell, Martin Duane McConnell, and Anthony Lynn McConnell. Sister-in-Love Sherot Orealya Thompson (Deceased) Bubby’s legacy also lives on through her sister-in-law Ada Lee Wilson, Ruby Jewell Jackson, Brother-In- Law, Glenn (wife Tracy) Smith.
