Stephen Craig Lincoln, known affectionately as Steve to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2025, in Topeka, Kansas, at the age of 59. Born on November 27, 1965, in Trenton, New Jersey, Steve was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and grandfather whose warmth and generosity touched all those around him.
Steve is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Lisa Lincoln, with whom he shared a romance that began in the seventh grade and blossomed into a lifelong partnership. He was a cherished father to his daughters, Whitney and Hanna Lincoln, and held close the memory of his daughter Courtney Beisemeyer, who predeceased him. Born to his late father, Julius Lincoln and his surviving mother Ann Lincoln, siblings, Mike Lincoln, Julie Cain, and Cindy Lincoln, will remember Steve as a beacon of love and strength in their lives. Steve’s legacy continues through the joy and laughter of his nine grandchildren, who were the apple of his eye.
Steve dedicated twenty years of service to the Topeka Correctional Facility as the Physical Plant Supervisor. His commitment to his work was paralleled only by his passion for coaching. Steve spent many years coaching high school football, baseball and girls fast pitch softball, becoming a respected and influential figure in the lives of countless young athletes.
Steve’s interests were as varied as they were rich. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors. His garden was a testament to his patience and nurturing spirit. Still, Steve’s greatest joy came from attending his grandchildren’s sports events, where he was their most enthusiastic supporter.
Those who knew Steve will remember a man who embodied generosity, love, and a handy knack for fixing just about anything. His larger-than-life presence at family gatherings and his ability to make friends wherever he went are hallmarks of a life lived fully and with great heart.
Steve’s impact on his community was immeasurable, not only through his professional role and his coaching but also through the simple, everyday acts of kindness that defined his character. His laughter was infectious, his advice was sought after, and his willingness to lend a hand was unwavering.
In honor of Steve’s extraordinary life, we hold close the lessons he taught through his example: to love deeply, to work hard for what matters, and to always make time for family and friends. His legacy will live on in the stories shared, the lessons he taught on and off the field, and the profound influence he had on his loved ones.
Steve Lincoln’s journey through life was one of purpose, laughter, and love. As we say goodbye, we do so with gratitude for the time we had with him and the assurance that his spirit will remain with us always.
Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 AM, Monday, March 17, 2025, at the Fairlawn Church of The Nazarene, 730 SW Fairlawn Road.
