Mary Louise Johnson, 70, passed away on June 30, 2025 at Midland Hospice House.
She was born Mary Louise Resser, daughter of Joseph Resser and Shirley (Duncan) Resser.
She worked for many years at Stormont Vail Hospital in the Environmental Services department before retiring.
Mary is survived by her son, James Davis (Courtney) of Topeka, Kansas. They gave Mary her joy in life by giving her two grandsons, Luke and Gabriel, to spoil and enjoy. She loved doing little things to make them smile, such as bringing over an immense amount of candy for them to eat at Halloween. She could not let a holiday go by without bringing candy or a black forest cake to enjoy! She would make a black forest cake for a local Veteran’s organization weekly, along with making them for her local fire department, family and friends. Everyone loved her black forest cakes!
Mary’s love language was acts of service and giving gifts. She loved sitting at food drives to ensure those in her circle and beyond had access to food that they lacked transportation to get. She loved filling the living room full of gifts on Christmas. When she found an item or brand that someone enjoyed, she would go to every garage sale or flea market to find as many of those brands as she could. She loved to see all the smiles and joy when the gifts were opened.
Mary was well loved by her circle of friends, who became family. Connie Higbee and Robert “Bob” Bastian, Dottie Clark. David, Heather, Hannah and Dalton Ent, as well as Walt and Bernadine Boyer, along with Elizabeth Brassfield, her neighbors and many others.
Mary Louise Johnson was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. Her heart of gold and unwavering kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, Mary requested monetary donations be made to Cosper’s Day Service for their community enrichment program and to the Special Olympic Stars baseball team, as she was son incredibly proud of her grandson being selected for the team.
