Mark David Quiett, known as Mark by those who knew him best, passed away on April 17, 2025, at the age of 62 in his hometown of Topeka, Kansas.

Born on November 11, 1962, Mark spent his entire life as a cherished member of the Topeka community, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness that will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Mark was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Delores Kay Quiett. He is survived by a loving family who will continue to honor his memory: his father, Ronald Floyd Quiett of Topeka; his brother, Jeffrey Lynn Quiett, also of Topeka; his sister, Rhonda Dee Demaranville of Oskaloosa; his sister Donna Marie Riggs and her husband Paul of Meriden; his brother Kenneth Eugene Quiett and his wife Janie of Delia; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who were all dear to him.

A proud graduate of Topeka High School, He dedicated many years to the food service industry, where his gentle and thoughtful nature made him a favorite among colleagues and patrons alike. Mark’s career included valued positions with Menninger’s, Memorial Hospital, and Tammy’s Restaurant at Billard Airport in the Oakland area. His professionalism and kind-hearted approach to service left a lasting impression on those he worked with and served.

Beyond his professional life, Mark was a fisherman and found great joy in the simple pleasure of casting a line into the water and awaiting the thrill of a catch. He had a love for his friends. Mark was known for his ability to forge deep and enduring friendships, and his presence was a source of comfort and joy at gatherings. Mark’s gentle spirit, kindness, and thoughtful demeanor were the highlights of his personality. Those who knew him would often describe Mark as a man of great compassion, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. His warm smile was infectious and made a lasting impact on his community.

As we say farewell to Mark, we reflect on a life filled with love, friendship, and the quiet strength of a kind-hearted man. His memory will continue to inspire those who knew him.
