LaTisha Renae Peoples, a beloved wife, daughter, sister, aunt, niece and friend, passed away from complications related to her long battle with Lupus on April 17, 2025, at the age of 55. Born on November 27, 1969, in Topeka, Kansas, LaTisha brought warmth, kindness, and a calming presence to everyone who knew her.
LaTisha was a proud graduate of Highland Park High School, Class of 1988. Shortly after graduation, she answered the call to serve her country and joined the United States Army, where she honorably served during Operation Desert Storm. Her commitment to service continued in her academic and professional life, earning her Master of Public Administration (MPA) in Health Care Administration Management from Grambling State University. She went on to pursue a PhD in Healthcare Administration from Southern University.
She made her home in Arlington, Texas, with her loving husband, Lynnon Coleman. Their life together was filled with joy, adventure, and countless memories — from exploring the beauty of Alaska to the soulful rhythms of New Orleans. Her love of travel took her across the world, including a cherished trip to Japan with her sister. A true lover of culture, LaTisha had a special place in her heart for New Orleans and zydeco music. Her wedding even featured a vibrant second line celebration.
LaTisha was known for her laid-back, easygoing spirit — the kind of person who made others feel seen, supported, and loved. She was the rock of her family, always there with encouragement, wisdom, and unwavering love. She was the best big sister anyone could ask for, a devoted daughter, wife, aunt, niece and friend.
She is survived by her husband, Lynnon Coleman; her younger sister, LaTonya Peoples; her niece, Cadynce Peoples; and her parents, Evelyn and Hollis Peoples. She was preceded in death by her younger brother, Corde Peoples, who was the father of her niece.
