Glenn Lewis “Butch” Packer, 72, was discovered deceased at his home on May 7, 2025.
He was born January 30, 1953, the first born to Glenn “Sonny” and Sylvia Hutchison Packer.
He attended Belvoir Elementary, East Topeka Junior High, Highland Park High School and Platt College. He worked various jobs in Topeka, including Goodyear, Southwest Publishing and, most recently, Walmart.
He was a gifted artist, with his main medium being pastels. He loved creating celebrity portraits, most notably, Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson. When he wasn’t creating art, he worked on perfecting his many magic tricks to try out on anyone who would watch or he would share funny videos with family and friends and listen to music. He was a big Elvis fan. He also studied martial arts and earned his black belt in Tae Kwon Do. He was a man of many talents.
As he didn’t own a car, he was an avid walker. He put a lot of miles on his tennis shoes.
Glenn was preceded in death by his father in 2002 and his mother in 2010. He is survived by his siblings, Mike Packer (Tina Montague) in Topeka, Debby Cowan in Wichita, Connie Paletta in New Bern, NC and Pamela Packer in Topeka.
