Glen Allen Thompson

October 29, 1947 - March 29, 2025

Glen Allen Thompson of Concordia, Kansas, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2025, at his granddaughter’s home in Concordia, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Beloit, Kansas, Glen was the son of Glen S. Thompson and Iris A. Maley.

Glen began his adult life with a deep commitment to family and work. On April 4, 1969, he was united in marriage to his beloved Jody Ann Gepner. The couple built a life together in Natoma, Kansas, later moving to Kirwin, Kansas, where they shared many happy years until Jody’s passing. Glen continued to cherish family, moving next to Russell to be with one daughter, then to Beloit to spend time with his other daughter and grandchildren, and finally settling in Concordia for his later years.

A hardworking man, Glen spent some of his career in the oil fields and later worked for the City of Phillipsburg, then went to detailing vehicles. After retiring, he found joy in simple pleasures—mowing yards, doing minor landscaping for neighbors, friends and family. An avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Glen loved playing bingo, fishing, watching wrestling, and sitting on the porch playing football with his grandchildren. His warm spirit brightly shined during his final years as he lived with his granddaughter, delighting in daily moments of laughter and mischief with his great-grandchildren.

Glen is survived by his two daughters: Christine (Eugene) Clapp, and Dusty Larson 6 grandchildren Lucas, Jalyssa (Manny), Makenna (Leroy) Slater, Braden Clapp, Trevette Clapp, Walker (Morgan) Clapp 11 great-grandchildren Zach, Ava, Cayson, Skyra, Easton, Hunter, Samya, Trinity, Juliet, Michael, and Zoey. Brothers, Terry and Tracy Thompson, his sister Vola Conrad, and numerous extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jody Thompson; his brothers Bob, Archie, Carl, and Billy; his sisters Pearl Teiking, and Elsie Crawford; as well as his father- and mother-in-law, Helen and Ted Gepner.

Glen’s kindness, unwavering dedication to family, and love for life will forever be remembered. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he enriched, and his memory will remain a guiding light for all who knew him.
