Garald “Jerry” Dean Ribordy, 74, of Topeka, KS, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Midland Care Hospice House after battling cancer.

Jerry was born August 31, 1950, in Cheyenne, Wyoming the son of Lawrence W. and Naomi Lincoln Ribordy.

He attended Seaman schools and was a lifelong Topeka resident. He worked as a carpenter, roofer, maintenance, and construction at various places in Topeka.

Jerry’s passions were fishing, camping, boating, throwing horseshoes, gardening/canning, watching KU basketball, the KC Chiefs, along with wrestling. He will be remembered for his orneriness, sense of humor, and kind personality.

Jerry married Patricia Bailey on August 23, 2003, in Grantville, KS and they shared twenty-one wonderful years together. She survives. Other survivors include his children, two sons, Scott (Shina) Ribordy, Dustin Ribordy, three daughters, Melissa (Matt) Ribordy-Scott, Tasha (Tysen) Hynek-Langvardt, Lori (Matt) Whitworth, and two stepdaughters, Shanna (Josh) Mooney, and Stephanie Jantzen, four brothers, Wayne (Lesa) Ribordy, Bob Ribordy (Viola), Larry (Rose) Ribordy, Roy Burrous (Beckie), a sister, Belinda Price (Steve), nineteen grandchildren, along with Jerry’s bro, best friend, and fishing buddy, J. Riffey and his wife Tracie.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence W. Ribordy, his mother, Naomi Ribordy Burrous, stepdad, Roy C. Burrous, a brother, Loren Ribordy and a grandson, Braydyn Scott.

A very special “Thank You” to Kelly and Tena for always being there for Jerry and to Midland Hospice House. You all delivered amazing care and are angels in our eyes. We are forever grateful.

Jerry has chosen cremation and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
