Félida Violeta Ramírez

March 2, 1933 - March 28, 2025

Our beloved mother, Félida Violeta Ramírez entered into her eternal rest on march 28th 2025

She passed away serenely, surrounded by her loved ones, due to natural causes at the age of 92 in Lawrence, Kansas.

Born on March 2, 1933, in Los Puertos de Altagracia, Zulia State, Venezuela and known affectionately as “Maestra Félida”. Maestra Félida embarked on a teaching career that she pursued with love and dedication for 42 years. Félida fulfilled her calling in Cabimas, Campo Mara, and her cherished La Concepción, working initially for the Shell Venezuela Company’s education system and later for the national government.

She is proceeded by her husband Kelvin Aqüi, her father, Manuel Ramírez, her mother, Irma Olivares, and her siblings—Fulvia, Flor, Fernando, and Filiberto.

In 1963, she married Kelvin Aqüi in La Concepción, where they established their lifelong home. Félida Violeta is survived by her two children, Kelfel and Félida (Yeyita); her son-in-law and daughter-in-law, José López and Mireya Aqüi; her grandchildren, Javier Aqüi, Fernando Aqüi, Paula López, Nicole Aqüi, Kelvin López, Paula Aqüi; and her great-grandson, Teyo Aqüi.

Maestra Félida devoted herself to primary school education. She found deep fulfillment in seeing the fruits of her labor reflected in the affection of three generations of former students. One of her most cherished memories was the tribute paid to her upon her retirement at Canaima Stadium in La Concepción, where hundreds gathered to honor her—an unprecedented event she treasured until her final days.

We ask her family, friends, and all compassionate souls to offer a prayer for the eternal repose of her soul.
