With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Catherine (Cathy) Irene Sawyer, who departed this life peacefully on April 9, 2025, at the age of 75. Cathy was known for her love, hugs and laughter to all who knew her, and her absence will be deeply felt.

Born on January 27, 1950, in Topeka, Kansas, Catherine enjoyed bowling, golf, family and friends. She graduated from Seamen High School and went on to work as the business manager for Saint Francis Hospital.

Catherine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister and cherished the time she spent with her loved ones. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone laugh and listen without judgment. Her beauty and infectious smile will be fondly remembered by all.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Cecil “Larry” Sawyer, son, Jeff Narron, daughter-in-law Kristen Narron, and granddaughter, Samantha Narron. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Umscheid, mother, Elizabeth Umscheid, brothers, Richard and Larry Umscheid and sister Karen Umscheid.

Catherine Irene Sawyer will be remembered for her loving heart, generous spirit and dedication to her family and friends. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
