Beverly Diane Bergman

January 4, 1964

Beverly Diane Bergman, known to all as Bev, whose warmth and spirit shone brightly even through the hardest of times, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2025, at the age of 61 in Topeka, Kansas, after a brave battle with stage 4 lung cancer. Born on January 4,1964, in Abilene, Texas, Bev was a beacon of love and exuberance to everyone lucky enough to cross her path.

Bev walked through life with a spirited gait, flourishing in the rich soil of her family’s love. The daughter of Erma Coup (deceased) and Russell Yant (deceased), she was a natural caretaker and forged cherished bonds with a multitude of people. Her siblings Steve Coup (wife Becky), Wayne Yant (wife Lennis), Bruce Yant (wife Tommy), Linda Creach (husband Lonnie), and Roy Yant (deceased) were blessed to call her sister. The legacy of Bev’s loving nature extends to the relationships she held with her countless nieces, nephews, and the various “adopted” children and grandchildren that reverently named her Mom and Grandma Bev.

Completing her high school education in Abilene, Kansas, Bev took her vibrant self to California where she trained as a travel agent, further enriching her life with new experiences. She then lent her skills and dedication to Oread in Lawrence, Kansas, and subsequently Solomon Corporation in Solomon, Kansas. Most recently, Bev provided loving care as a dietary aide at Rolling Hills Assisted Living in Topeka, touching the lives of residents with her gentle demeanor and genuine concern for their wellbeing.

Bev found her greatest joy in her children, Cheyenne Edwards (husband Dillon, stepdaughter Gypsie) and Gage Bergman that she shared with her ex-husband, Doug Bergman (wife Vicky). She was a pillar of support and the embodiment of pride in their lives. Her enthusiasm for their accomplishments was matchless, and she was their steadfast cheerleader in every endeavor. Celebrating the milestones of her beloved family was the essence of Bev’s happiness.

The simple pleasures in life were Bev’s treasures: she was enamored by the ocean’s endless dance and found solace in its vast beauty. A student of the past, she spent countless hours absorbed in historical shows, journeying through time with each story. This interest not only revealed her love for the world’s narrative but also echoed her own role as a storyteller among her family and friends.

Bev’s spirit was vivacious, swallowing life whole with relentless passion. She tackled each day with a love that was deep and far-reaching; her presence itself was a reassurance of unconditional affection. Friends and family will remember Bev as the embodiment of love, a spirited soul, and a passionate force who influenced every life she touched for the better.

Though the sun has set on Bev’s time with us, her legacy endures in the hearts she has touched and the joy she has left in her wake. There is comfort to be found in the memories shared, the lessons learned, and the love that forever intertwines her story with Bev will be dearly missed, cherished always, and celebrated for the magnificent life she lived

A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. We bid farewell to Beverly Diane Bergman; a remarkable woman whose spirit will continue to guide and inspire us for generations to come. Her laughter, her passion, and her enduring love remain a beacon for all who were privileged to have felt their warmth.
