TOPEKA, Kan. — Councilman Spencer Duncan won Topeka’s mayoral election on Tuesday, Nov. 4, defeating developer Henry McClure in a landslide. Unofficial results show Duncan with about 75–76% of the vote (12,723 votes) to McClure’s 24–25% (4,111 votes). He will succeed Mayor Mike Padilla, who did not seek re-election. https://www.wibw.com+1
Duncan, a native Topekan and current District 8 council member, campaigned on public safety, infrastructure, tax restraint, transparency, and community engagement. He announced his bid shortly after Padilla said he wouldn’t run again. https://www.wibw.com
