TOPEKA, Kan. — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office confirmed late Monday that the search for missing Topeka man, Patrick Anno Jr., at Lake Perry yielded no evidence. Despite extensive efforts, including perimeter checks and the use of trained search dogs, no signs of Anno were found.
Anno, a Topeka resident, has been missing since Saturday night after attending the annual ABATE Labor Day Rally at Lake Perry. He was last seen around 9:30 p.m., walking away from the campsite toward the entrance. His phone reportedly pinged multiple times in the 29th and Gage area of Topeka before the signal went dead.
Sheriff’s Office Statement
A spokesperson for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office told This Is Topeka that the search with scent-tracking dogs did not produce any results. The spokesperson did not indicate whether search operations will resume on Tuesday or if the official search has concluded.
Community Still Searching
Family members and volunteers remain determined to continue their efforts to locate Anno. In earlier appeals, the family requested the use of 4-wheelers, ATVs, drones, and horses to help navigate the large, wooded, and rugged areas surrounding Lake Perry. However, authorities previously asked volunteers to avoid entering the area while trained dogs were deployed to avoid disrupting the search.
