Norman L. Hogan

August 14, 1941 - July 10, 2025

Norman L. Hogan, age 83, of Topeka, KS, passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Stormont Vail Hospital.

He was born the son of John P. and Leta J. (Breeding) Hogan on August 14, 1941, in Home, KS. On October 14, 1961, Norman married his beloved sweetheart, Marcia J. Stattelman at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Topeka. Together, they shared 63 years of marriage.

Throughout Norman’s working career, he excelled in the plumbing/pipefitting trade. He owned and operated EZ Clean Drain Service, and later he was sole proprietor of Standard Plumbing Company, both in Topeka. He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Manufacturing plant as a pipefitter. He was proud to be a Local Union #441 (formerly #165) Plumbers and Pipefitters member for many years. Norman was a long time Knights of Columbus member of the North Topeka Council 2608.

Norman was a family man to the core as he cherished raising his kids and attending his grandchildren’s events. In his early years, Norman, Marcia, and the kids spent most weekends camping and spending time with other families at local area lakes. Later in life, he and Marcia loved to take family cruises, and their favorite trip was to Rome. Norman spent time cheering on his favorite teams, the KC Chiefs, Royals, KU Jayhawks and K-State Wildcats. He was the happiest when he was surrounded by his loving family.

Survivors include his wife, Marcia Hogan; two sons, Curtis Hogan and his wife Carrie, Kevin Hogan and his wife Mechelle; two daughters, Brenda Beck and her husband Mark, Cindy Bigenwalt and her husband Brian; as well as 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one on the way. He is also survived by his sister, Rosalie Johnson.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents; and eight siblings and their spouses.

He will lie in state from 5-8:00 P.M., on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, with a parish rosary being prayed at 6:00 P.M., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M., on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made in Norman’s memory to Sacred Heart-St. Joseph Catholic Parish in care of the funeral home.
