Topeka, Kan. — May 22, 2025

Three individuals were arrested Wednesday in separate incidents involving deadly weapons, according to the latest booking report from the Shawnee County Department of Corrections.

Christopher Fidell Bullins, 43, was booked for aggravated battery using a deadly weapon under circumstances likely to cause great bodily harm, disfigurement, or death. He is currently being held without bond. The circumstances of the incident have not yet been released publicly.

In a separate case, Christene Janiece Nowels, 38, was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Nowels is also facing additional charges, including theft, driving while suspended, and two outstanding warrants from previous cases. She is being held on a $5,000 cash or surety bond.

Also booked was Michael John Schroeder, 46, who was charged with aggravated assault using a deadly weapon. Schroeder is being held without bond. Further details regarding the nature of the alleged assault have not been disclosed.

All three cases remain under investigation, and formal charges are pending review by the Shawnee County District Attorney’s Office.
