Alex A. Traylor Sr., 61, passed away on May 6, 2025, after a long battle with kidney disease. Alex was born in Columbus, OH, and grew up there until the age of 12, when his mother passed away. He was then sent to live with his great-aunt and uncle and their family in Barnesville, GA. He graduated from Lamar High School in 1982 and went on to serve several years in the United States Army. Alex worked in the armed security field for many years, including with GardaWorld, where he advanced to the position of branch manager. He also worked for KVC, and was currently employed at Security Transport Services. In 2001, Alex married Donna Evans, and they spent 35 years together. He enjoyed RV camping and boat fishing, especially the friendly rivalry with his wife over who would catch the first fish. Alex also had a love for vehicles—cars, trucks, motorcycles, and boats. He was preceded in death by his mother, Josephine Traylor; his great-aunt and uncle, Alice and James Gotell; and three brothers: Carl, Elton, and Willie James Gotell; his mother-and father-in-law, Doris and Dwaine Evans, who loved him as more than a son-in-law. Alex is survived by his wife, Donna Evans Traylor. Three Sisters, Georgette Traylor of Topeka; Carletta Owens and Alice Nash, both of Georgia Son Alex Traylor Jr., of Topeka, and his eight children. Two Daughters, Charmaine Huggins (Jamari and Desean) and Shannon Huggins (Shamir). Two Nieces, Arnetia and Ariana Traylor, and a host of adopted nieces and nephews over the years.
