Demetria Renea "Dee Dee" C. Morrison

Demetria Renee Morrison was born in Lawrence Kansas on Jan. 7 1952 to her loving parents Henry V Morrison Sr and Donna J Morrison. Demetria accepted Jesus Christ the son of God at an early age. Demetria was a woman of God and didn’t mind making it known in any situation she had to face. The good Lord made her presence so powerful when she walked into the room though she was usually one of the smallest in size. Demetria graduated from Lawrence High School in 1970 and attended the University of Kansas. She loved sports and she stood up for her people and participated in many protests. Demetria worked at Berry Plastic for 23 years and she started her career when she moved to Reno Nevada to be with her brother. Demetria was a dedicated worker and enjoyed decorating her building for every holiday. Demetria retired from Berry Plastic in 2018. Demetria was a loving mother to her two daughters Trina and Lela Morrison. Demetria was very proud of her girls and wasn’t secretive in telling them and others how much she loved them. Demetria was a loving and caring grandmother to her 4 grandchildren: Briana, Amaya, Demetrius and Elijah whom filled her heart with so much love. Demetria’s pride and joy was her family. She was a firm believer in right is right and wrong is wrong which was a quality that many people admired and loved about her. Demetria loved her mother Donna Morrison dearly and would always say ” I got to take care of my momma”. They needed each other mutually and loved each other unconditionally. Demetria was preceded in death by her father Henry V Morrison Sr, her grandmother Lurue Cooper, granddaughter Briana T Morrison , her sister Tonya Turner and her brother Henry V Morrison Jr. Demetria leaves to cherish her loving memory to her mother, Donna J Morrison;, her two daughters, Trina C.R. Morrison and Lela K Morrison; three grandchildren; Amaya B Watson, Demetrius E Morrison and Elijah V Morrison; five sisters, Stephanie Cooper, Tranice Jones, Annette Dabney, Angela Morrison and Stacy Morrison; two brothers; Eddie Morrison and Norman Bell; and a hosts of nieces, nephews , cousins, relatives and friends.
