I have a few questions,
1st if you have a Dr. Appointment at say 9am and you don’t see the adr till 10am. My time is just as valuable as the DR. Then, when you get in there, you are totally irritated. You forget what you want to ask.
2nd, I have a friend in SN jail and recently had his voice box and vocal cords removed due to throat cancer . I was at his court hearing last week, and he has to write everything down on the dry erase board. So my friend was trying to ask the Judge a question and the Judge said, “Mr.—-, I don’t have time for any more questions, I have 15 other people to deal with.” Now, well, excuse me, but when are court cases on a time limit? I’m sure this is a violation against someone with a disability that can’t talk. I have no respect for the judicial system in Topeka.
Irritated
Dear Irritated,
Waiting in doctor offices is the worst. I agree our time is important and it is so frustrating to wait so long. I do 2 things. I always have a book or my phone to play with and spend some time before your appointment to write down your symptoms. I even send them in My Chart ahead of my appointment. I think we forget that a lot of our doctors have rounds in the hospitals and I know there can be delays. Patience is the key. Prepare like you know you will be waiting. (I always have a drink and a snack. Waiting gives me the munchies.
How rude of that judge. Here is what is upsetting, why didn’t somebody stand up for him? Does your friend still have a hearing? I would definitely address what happened with someone in the court system. The judge was dismissive a handicapped person. Since I don’t know details of why there was a court appearance, I’m not sure of a good answer. I know I wouldn’t not let this go. I looked up how to file a complaint. Go to the Commission on Judicial Conduct. Located under the Kansas Judicial Branch.
Take some deep breaths. Relax your shoulders. We do what we can and we let go of what is out of our hands. Good luck!
Love Mama J
