Khoai Smith

On February 14, 2025, Khoai Iman Michael Lee Smith departed from his loved ones and joined his Lord and Savior, following his grandmother, Falieca Redmond; his grandfather, George Walton; and his uncles, Anthony Marshall III and KB. Born on November 19, 2019, Khoai—affectionately known as “Bun” to his mom and “Bubby” to his dad—was a precious gift from God to his parents, Makia and Kamarion. Khoai was always smiling—a happy explorer who believed there was nothing he couldn’t do! He was sweet, funny, and intelligent, and even at just five years old, a single conversation with him could change your world. He loved spending time with his family, playing, and, most importantly, living life to its fullest. His sweet “I love you” will forever echo in the hearts of those who loved him. Khoai made an unforgettable impact. Incredibly bright for his age, he could spell his name, knew his ABCs, and was already counting. Khoai’s favorite color was red, and he had a special fondness for shoes, cars, and trucks. Before his love for vehicles developed, Khoai was passionate about dinosaurs. His curiosity and enthusiasm were unmatched. His joyful spirit was reflected in his love and passion for dancing to music, as well as his excitement while playing video games. He cherished moments spent with his siblings and cousins, always laughing and making memories. Khoai loved Spider-Man—he had Spider-Man cologne, clothes, shoes, and he knew all the songs, movies, and shows by heart. He was famous for picking up people’s phones to record videos and take photos. Khoai leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Makia; father, Kamarion; grandfather, Anthony, Sr.; grandmothers, Kila, Kerri, and Dorthella; sisters, Kah’lanii, Kah’niyah, Kah’milah, Khor’iyah, and Imani; brothers, Karmello, Khi’yari, and Niaire; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members. Though his time on earth was brief, the love, joy, and light Khoai brought into the world will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. POEM Missing You So Much: You left us broken hearted not knowing what to do but now we find such comfort in memories of you. The legacy you left us was happiness and love and that shines on forever from the glorious skies above. You brought joy and comfort from the moment you came into this world. Now in heaven you’re an angel just as you were on earth.
