American Flag at dawn flying at half mast by Rocco Cappella
TOPEKA, KS – Governor Laura Kelly has ordered flags on all state buildings, grounds, and facilities to be flown at half-staff on Monday, February 10, in honor of former Congresswoman Martha Keys. The directive, issued under Executive Order #20-30, recognizes Keys’ legacy as a trailblazing leader in Kansas politics.
Keys, who served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1975 to 1979, was only the second woman to represent Kansas in Congress. Governor Kelly praised her contributions, stating, “Her work has left a lasting impact on our state and our nation. My condolences go out to her loved ones.”
The public can sign up for flag status alerts through the governor’s office at this link.
