Michael Dean Phillips

November 2, 1955 - January 10, 2025

Mike Phillips, 69, of Topeka, KS passed away at his home on January 10, 2025.

He was born November 2, 1955, in Kansas City, KS to Kenneth and Lona Phillips. He attended Highland Park High School, graduating in 1973.

Mike was employed by Samco, Inc. as a Master Plumber. He enjoyed work and would always answer a call if needed. This past summer was fun for him as he was able to work with his son and grandson at Samco. Mike enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and liked to go fishing. Spring, Summer and Fall, you could find Mike at Lake Perry with his family out on the boat or at the campground, always with a rum runner. He enjoyed watching the Kansas City Chiefs and KU sports. Many game days were spent cheering on his teams at the Dugout. Mike was proud of his restored Dodge Dart and would show it off at numerous car shows and events. Mike never knew a stranger. He was always quick to make new friends. He was most proud of his grandkids. He cherished spending time with them and attending all their ball games, performances, events and activities.

He married Lisa Kroth, she survives. He is also survived by his son, Jared (Becky) Phillips, his grandchildren, Dylan and Hailey Phillips, his siblings, Marcella Green, Dennis (Ruth) Phillips, Eddie (Pam) Phillips, Debbie Clausen and a sister-in-law, Barbara Phillips. Many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and his Samco Family also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Lona and a brother Kenneth Alan Phillips.

Cremation is planned with a private celebration of life at a later date.
