Leo Eugene Thompson, Jr was born on March 6, 1949, to Leo and Ethel Thompson. He attended Hayden High School, where he was actively involved in sports, showing his compassion for life and teamwork.
After graduating, Leo embarked on a fulfilling journey, gaining certification as a chef and honing his talents in upholstery. His skills and dedication in these fields were a testament to his hard work andd determination.
Leo was a proud father of three children, Tiffany, Tamara and Jason, and the cherished grandfather of his six grandchildren, who brought him great joy.
Later in life, Leo moved to Texas, where he pursed a deeper connection with his faith and was honored to become a deacon, living a life of devotion and service to God. Leo was a man with a cheerful heart, whose kindness and love touched the lives of many. Proverbs 27:19 reminds us, “As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart.” Leo’s life truly reflected a heart full of love, generosity, and grace.
Though Leo’s life was filoled withjoy, it was also marked by struggles with health. Yet, through it all, his faith remained unwavering. We trust in God’s perfect timing,even when it’s hard for us to understand from an earthly perspective.
Though the loss is painful l, we find comfort in knowing that God’s purpose will stand, even when we don’t fully grasp it. As itis written in John 14:3, “I’ll go to prepare a place for you.” Leo is now in peace reunited with his parents, Leo and Ethel Thompson, and his brother Kelvin Lynn Thompson who preceded him in death.
He is survived by his brothers, James Edward Thompson, Kenneth Ray Thompson, and Michael Dwayne Thompson, his sisters, Debra Thompson Oakes and Mary Wright, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Though we mourn, we celebrate Leo’s life and the legacy of love and faith he leaves behind. He has now answered God’s call and is at rest waiting for us in heaven.
