A local construction company owner is facing multiple felony charges after being booked Monday evening into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on allegations involving the abuse of a young child.
According to Shawnee County booking records, Colton Michael Callison, 30, of Topeka, was arrested at approximately 7:35 p.m. Monday, July 20. He is being held without bond on a Shawnee County warrant.

Callison has been booked on the following charges:
- Abuse of a child — knowingly torturing or cruelly beating, striking, kicking, or otherwise abusing a child under the age of 6.
- Aggravated endangering a child — recklessly placing a child under the age of 18 in a dangerous situation.
Both charges are among the most serious offenses involving child victims under Kansas law. Court records indicate that Callison remains in custody with no bond listed as of Tuesday morning.
The affidavit supporting the arrest warrant has not yet been released publicly, and authorities have not disclosed additional details regarding the alleged incident, including the identity or condition of the child involved.
As with all criminal cases, the charges filed against Callison are allegations. He is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
This is a developing story. Additional information will be published as court documents become available.
