TOPEKA, Kan. — The Topeka Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying a man suspected of burglarizing elderly residents at several local nursing homes and using stolen credit cards across multiple Kansas cities and into Oklahoma.

According to police, the suspect—described as a Black male carrying a bag or parcels—entered nursing homes under the guise of a delivery driver. Investigators say he was seen inside Thorton Place, located at 2901 SW Armstrong Ave., where he entered occupied apartments on two separate occasions and stole financial cards belonging to residents.

Those stolen cards were later used to make purchases at major retailers in Emporia, El Dorado, Wichita, and Edmond, Oklahoma, authorities said.

Police have linked the incidents to case numbers 2025-80738 and 2025-81667. The department released a surveillance photo of the suspect and is urging anyone with information about his identity or whereabouts to come forward.
