Well folks, they say lightning never strikes twice. But if you’re Sunny Dee Painter, it strikes four times — and all before the weekend.

In what might be the fastest hat trick plus one this side of the Shawnee County Detention Center, Sunny Dee rang the bell for her fourth arrest in just a handful of days, officially earning platinum status in the “frequent flyer” program at the jail.

The latest cameo? A May 7th booking for criminal trespass — reportedly for ignoring a property owner’s very polite request to leave. That request was backed by a warrant and a $150 cash bond, which she made just in time to be home for dinner. The official charge? “Remain in defiance of order by owner,” which in layman’s terms roughly translates to: “Ma’am, you really can’t be here.”

This booking comes hot on the heels of her May 6th arrest for a trio of hits: criminal trespass, interference with law enforcement, and disobeying a lawful order. But wait, rewind to May 5th, when she was booked on aggravated burglary, aggravated assault, and damage to property, among other less-than-neighborly deeds. And who could forget the double-dip from earlier that same day — a sort of brunch-and-dinner tour of Topeka’s finest holding facilities?

For those keeping score at home, that’s:

  • 4 bookings
  • 3 mugshots
  • 2 court dates
  • 1 woman who really doesn’t like being told what to do

At this point, Sunny Dee’s arrest record is starting to read like a miniseries, and frankly, Topeka can’t look away. We’ve got enough content here to pitch a true crime podcast or at least an after-school special titled “Trespassin’ Ain’t Easy.”

Her next court date is set for June 6 at 11:00 AM, assuming she doesn’t swing by the jailhouse again before then for another quick photo op.

Topeka, let this be a reminder: Some folks binge Netflix. Some binge queso. And some, like Sunny Dee, binge jail time.

Stay tuned, stay lawful, and as always — if you’re going to go out in style, maybe don’t make it a four-fer in a week.
