“Health at Work” Award
TOPEKA – Governor Laura Kelly recognized on Monday the work of the State Employee Health Benefits Plan Division (SEHBP) for being selected as the 2024 “Health at Work” award recipient.
“I’m proud of the service the State Employee Health Benefits Plan Division provides to our employees and their families,” Governor Laura Kelly said. “This award recognizes the dedication the SEHBP has in delivering high-quality services.”
The SEHBP is a division within the Kansas Department of Administration and consists of 44 employees across two different sections: the State Employee Health Plan (SEHP) and the State Self Insurance Fund (SSIF). SEHP administers medical plans, dental coverage, voluntary prescription eyewear coverage, and tax advantaged accounts for State of Kansas employees. SSIF provides workers compensation services that comply with Kansas statutes and meet the Kansas Department of Labor’s Division of Workers Compensation rules and regulations.
“The members of the SEHBP are dedicated public servants who know the value of good healthcare,” said Secretary of Administration Adam Proffitt. “I’m glad their tireless efforts to meet the needs of their customers are being recognized.”
The Health at Work award is bestowed by ComPsych, the nation’s largest provider of mental health services. ComPsych recognized the SEHBP for its efforts to prioritize employee health and well-being through innovative, multi-platform programs.
“ComPsych is thrilled to honor SEHBP for the investment it has made in building a culture that centers around employee mental health and well-being, demonstrating their understanding that employee mental health is not a passing trend, but a key driver of organizational success,” said CEO of ComPsych Paul Posey.
SEHBP has worked closely with ComPsych to expand its network of providers, improve access to care, and increase engagement with the Employee Assistance Program (EAP). By fostering a strong partnership between the EAP and the wellness program, SEHBP has empowered employees to prioritize their health and overall well-being. Listening to employee feedback has been central to SEHBP’s approach.
“At SEHBP, we believe that supporting employee mental health and well-being isn’t just an investment in individuals—it’s a commitment to a healthier, more resilient workplace where everyone can thrive,” said Director of SEHBP Jennifer Flory.
