TOPEKA, Kan. – The latest booking report from the Shawnee County Adult Detention Center provides insight into arrests over the past 24 hours. A total of 34 individuals were taken into custody for various offenses, ranging from bench warrants to violent crimes. Below are some of the most notable cases.

High-Profile Arrests

Dana Lynn Chandler

One of the most significant bookings was Dana Lynn Chandler, who was recently convicted in her third trial for the 2002 double homicide of her ex-husband, Mike Sisco, and his fiancée, Karen Harkness. Chandler was booked under a court order and is being held without bond pending sentencing.

Tristin Marquina Martinez

Martinez was booked on aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, unlawful firearm discharge, possession of opiates, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is being held on a $25,000 bond per charge, with her next court appearance scheduled for April 10, 2025.

Vonzell Edward Byrd

Byrd was arrested on charges of forgery and identity theft, both felonies. His bond has been set at $10,000 per charge, and his case will be heard in court on April 10, 2025.

Federal Holds and Parole Violations

Several individuals were booked for parole violations and federal detentions:

  • Promise Delon Redmond was booked on a federal hold with no bond set.
  • Michael James Perry & Jason Allen Ross were both taken into custody on parole violations, also being held without bond.

Theft, Fraud, and Cybercrime

  • Jaime Lynn Bell was arrested for unauthorized computer access causing damage exceeding $100,000. She is currently being held on a $1,000 bond pending her court date.
  • Cody Michael Bushey faces multiple charges of theft under $1,500 (pocket-picking), each carrying a $1,500 bond.

DUI and Driving Offenses

  • Steven Jay Ringquist was booked for his fourth DUI offense, involving a combination of drugs and alcohol. His bond was set at $5,000, and he is expected in court on April 10, 2025.
  • Dayton Raef Area & Casey Brett Vande Velde were both arrested for DUI offenses, with Vande Velde’s blood alcohol level reportedly exceeding .08 within three hours of driving.

Domestic and Violent Crimes

  • Rico Eugene Dane Taylor was charged with battery and shoplifting. His bond was set at $5,000 per charge.
  • Jatiya Latrai James was arrested for aggravated assault and domestic battery, with her bond set at $2,500 per charge.
  • Christopher Wade Darnall was taken into custody for interfering with law enforcement, criminal trespass, and shoplifting, with a parole violation hold placed on him as well.
