– Governor Laura Kelly announced Thursday 15 appointments to the following boards, commissions, councils, and authority.

Real Estate Appraisal Board
Purpose: To regulate real estate appraiser licensing, provide access to appraiser education resources, and inform appraisers of industry news.

  • Thomas Linsin, Leawood

Kansas Hispanic and Latino American Affairs Commission
Purpose: To coordinate, assist, and cooperate with the efforts of state departments, agencies, and public and private organizations to serve the needs of the Hispanic community.

  • Rocio del Aguila, Andover

Credit Union Council
Purpose: To supervise and regulate credit unions.

  • James Rothfelder, Lawrence

Governmental Ethics Commission
Purpose: To administer, interpret, and enforce the Campaign Finance Act and laws relating to conflict of interest, financial disclosure, and the regulation of lobbying.

  • Nick Hale, Fairway (reappointment)

Governor’s Behavioral Health Services Planning Council
Purpose: To advise the governor on adult, adolescent, and children’s services issues.

  • Harold Casey, Wichita

Fire Service Training Commission
Purpose: To provide for a traveling instruction service to train firefighters in jurisdictions requesting the instruction.

  • Patrick Dunn, Kansas City

Kansas Human Trafficking Board
Purpose: To explore the issues of human trafficking in the state of Kansas.

  • Carol Cadue-Blackwood, Lawrence

Physician Assistant Council
Purpose: To advise the Healing Arts Board regarding issues involving physician assistants.

  • Monica Fisher, Berryton
  • Molly Kurtz, Lawrence

Central Interstate Low-Level Radioactive Waste Commission
Purpose: To provide for and encourage the economic management of low-level radioactive waste and to distribute the costs, benefits, and obligations among states.

  • Kate Gleeson, Lawrence

University of Kansas Hospital Authority
Purpose: To govern the operations of the hospital at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

  • Don Hall Jr., Kansas City
  • Maureen Mahoney, Kansas City (reappointment)

State Board of Tax Appeals
Purpose: To ensure all property in the state is assessed for tax purposes in accordance with the Kansas Constitution and state statutes, resolve disputes between taxpayers and taxing authorities, and review tax exemption decisions, grievances, and tax equity corrections.
