The wait is over — professional hockey is officially coming to Topeka! The newest team in the Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL) is hitting the ice this October at the Stormont Vail Events Center… but there’s just one thing missing: a name.
That’s right — Topeka Pro Hockey is calling on the community to help make history by submitting ideas for the team’s official name! Whether it’s fierce, funny, or completely unexpected, the power is in your hands to help create an identity for the city’s first pro hockey squad.
Name submissions are open NOW at topekakansas.hockeyshift.com and will run until Sunday, April 7. After that, the top five names will be put to a public vote from April 14–27, and the winning name will be revealed at a live press conference on May 5 at 1 PM at the Stormont Vail Events Center.
But that’s not all — at the press conference, the team will also drop the puck on their official logo, jersey design, and major team announcements. This is more than just a name… it’s the birth of a new era in Topeka sports.
