The latest booking report from the Shawnee County Adult Detention Center shows another busy night of arrests across Topeka, with charges ranging from aggravated assault and burglary to drug possession and even criminal littering.

High-Value Theft and Burglary
Zachary James Stuart Sailors was booked on serious felony charges, including theft of property valued between $25,000 and $100,000 from a motor vehicle and burglary of a non-dwelling. Sailors is being held without bond.

Weapons and Assault
Boyd Alan Stark is facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. His case stands out not only because of the severity of the charge, but also because he is being held without bond—typically a sign of either a violent incident or a potential threat to public safety.

Traffic Offenders and Habitual Violators
Nicholas Isaac Claspill was booked on multiple traffic-related offenses, including driving while suspended and being designated a habitual violator. He also has a hold for another county in Kansas and is being held without bond.
Michael James Shoemaker, meanwhile, was picked up for his third or subsequent driving while suspended charge, along with no insurance and a license plate cover violation. He faces $4,500 in total bond.

Domestic Battery Dominates the Docket
At least seven individuals were booked on charges related to domestic violence, including Melissa Jane Christenson, Zachary Jordan Leone, Terry Eugene Slade, Yanna Lamisha Sykes, Zhariya Monet Stewart, Tyjuanna Banks-Hall, and Timothy Marlan Green. Some of these cases also included property damage or additional charges. Domestic violence continues to be a common thread in local arrests, reflecting ongoing issues in household and dating relationships.

DUI and Drug Charges Still Common
Multiple DUIs were recorded, including bookings for Kyle Patrick Metzger and Christopher Michael Hund. Eric Eugene Webb was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Joshua Steven Bessette was booked on a string of charges, including possession of narcotics, paraphernalia, and multiple traffic violations. He also had several warrants out of different jurisdictions, making him one of the more complicated arrests of the day.

A Few Unusual Notes
Amanda Rae Barnhart was arrested for criminal littering on public property and walking in the street when a sidewalk was available. In addition to these minor charges, she has a photo/jacket hold for positive identification, suggesting uncertainty about her identity.

Otis Lee Johnson was booked for providing false information to law enforcement, in addition to a parole hold. Giving a fake name during a parole check is an easy way to turn a manageable situation into a major problem.

No Frequent Flyers—This Time
Interestingly, this report didn’t include any obvious repeat offenders under the same name. That said, several names have a familiar ring, and a closer look at past reports might reveal a longer history.

If this report is any indication, Shawnee County continues to see a steady stream of arrests across a wide spectrum of offenses—from the routine to the disturbing.
