Topeka, KS –February 18, 2025 *– Topeka Public Schools (USD 501) Meadows Elementary has extended school, pushing the final day of school to Tuesday, May 27, 2025, after Memorial Day, due to recent snow days.

According to an internal message sent to staff, “Due to the snow day yesterday, the last day of school will be Tuesday, May 27th.” This change ensures students meet the state-mandated instructional requirements despite weather-related closures.

The extension applies to Meadows Elementary School and not necessarily all schools within the USD 501 district, that would affect thousands of students, teachers, and staff.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to check the district’s website and social media pages for further updates.

This is a developing story. Stay with This Is Topeka for the latest updates.
